About GameTruck
What is GameTruck?
GameTruck is a mobile entertainment company that delivers video game parties, laser tag, and outdoor activities directly to your location. A climate-controlled gaming theater — packed with 200+ game titles across Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch — pulls up to your house, and a certified GameCoach runs the entire event. Founded in 2006, GameTruck has delivered over 375,000 events across the United States with independently owned and operated franchise locations in over 30 states.
How long has GameTruck been in business?
GameTruck has been operating since 2006 — nearly 20 years of mobile party entertainment. In that time, we have delivered over 375,000 events for birthday parties, corporate events, school fundraisers, festivals, and private celebrations. GameTruck pioneered the mobile gaming party industry and remains the largest and most experienced operator in the United States.
Where does GameTruck operate?
GameTruck operates in over 500 communities across the United States with independently owned and operated franchise locations in major metro areas and surrounding suburbs. Each location is run by a local operator who knows the community. Enter your ZIP code on our website to instantly find out if GameTruck serves your area and to see real-time pricing and availability.
What makes GameTruck different from other mobile gaming companies?
Three things set GameTruck apart. First, every event is staffed by a certified, background-checked GameCoach who manages the entire experience — you do nothing. Second, our climate-controlled gaming theaters are purpose-built mobile entertainment venues, not converted trailers. Third, we offer far more than video games: laser tag, ZTAG, GelTag, foam parties, water tag, and @HOME gaming. With 375,000+ events since 2006, GameTruck has more experience delivering mobile entertainment than anyone in the industry.
Pricing & Value
How much does a GameTruck birthday party cost?
GameTruck birthday parties typically start around $400–$500 for a 2-hour event, averaging about $25 per guest. That is competitive with trampoline parks, arcade venues, and bounce house rentals — but GameTruck comes to you and the party is completely private. Pricing varies by location, experience type (video games, laser tag, foam party, etc.), day of the week, and party duration. Enter your ZIP code on our booking page to see real-time pricing for your area.
Is GameTruck cheaper than renting a party venue?
For most families, GameTruck is comparable in price to venue-based parties — and often a better value. A typical birthday party averages $25–$30 per guest and includes everything: equipment, entertainment, a certified GameCoach, setup, and cleanup. Venue parties typically charge admission fees, require food and drink minimums, and still need you to show up early for setup and stay late for cleanup. GameTruck eliminates all of that — it is a complete, private, self-contained party with zero work for the host.
How much do corporate and large group events cost?
Corporate team building packages typically start around $1,200. Employee appreciation events and family days start around $1,500. Festival and carnival packages begin at $1,500 for half-day events and scale based on duration, number of units, and activities. Pricing varies by location, headcount, and event scope. Enter your ZIP code on our booking page for a customized quote, or contact your local operator directly to discuss options for larger events.
Are there extra fees or hidden costs?
No. GameTruck pricing includes the gaming theater or activity equipment, a certified GameCoach, power generation, setup, and cleanup. There are no hidden fees. Some locations offer premium add-ons (extended time, additional activities, combo packages), which are quoted upfront during booking. You see the full price before you commit.
Booking & Scheduling
How far in advance should I book a GameTruck party?
For birthday parties, 4–6 weeks in advance is ideal. Saturdays and Sundays fill up fastest, especially during peak birthday season (spring and fall). Holiday weekends and end-of-school-year dates can fill 2–3 months out. For corporate events and large gatherings, book 2–3 months ahead for planning and coordination. That said, we can often accommodate last-minute requests — check availability online or call your local operator.
Can I book a GameTruck party online?
Yes. Enter your ZIP code on our website to find your local GameTruck operator and see real-time availability and pricing. You can complete your booking entirely online in just a few minutes. If you prefer, you can also call your local operator directly to book over the phone.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Cancellation policies vary by location since each GameTruck franchise is independently owned and operated. Most locations offer flexible rescheduling options, especially for weather-related changes. Contact your local operator for the specific cancellation and refund policy in your area. We recommend confirming the policy when you book.
What if my party venue changes or I need to reschedule?
Contact your local GameTruck operator as soon as possible. We understand plans change — venue switches, weather concerns, and schedule conflicts happen. Most operators can accommodate changes with reasonable notice. Rescheduling policies vary by location, so confirm details when you book.
Party Experiences
What party experiences does GameTruck offer?
GameTruck offers seven party experiences. Video Game Parties are our most popular — a climate-controlled theater with 200+ titles across Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. Laser Tag brings tactical outdoor battles. ZTAG uses wearable tech for active tag games. GelTag delivers safe gel bead battles. Foam Parties create mountains of clean, hypoallergenic bubbles. Water Tag is seasonal outdoor water-based fun. @HOME Gaming brings consoles and screens directly inside your home or venue. You can mix and match experiences for the ultimate combo party.
What games are available on the GameTruck?
Each GameTruck theater carries a library of 200+ games that is updated regularly. The library includes popular titles across Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch — from Madden and FIFA to Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, Fortnite, Minecraft, and more. Games range from E (Everyone) to M (Mature) ratings. All games are multiplayer for maximum group fun. Your GameCoach will help select age-appropriate titles for your party and can restrict the game library based on your preferences.
What is GameTruck @HOME?
GameTruck @HOME brings the gaming party inside your home, apartment, community center, or any indoor space. Instead of a mobile theater, a GameCoach delivers and sets up gaming consoles, screens, and controllers directly in your space. It is perfect for locations without outdoor access (apartments, condos), indoor-only venues, or events where you prefer to stay inside. The GameCoach manages the entire experience the same way they would in the trailer — you do nothing.
Can I combine multiple activities at one event?
Absolutely. Combo parties are popular — many families pair video games with laser tag, or add foam parties to a GelTag event. Corporate events often run three or four activities simultaneously. Combining activities keeps energy high, gives guests variety, and works especially well for larger groups. Your local operator will help you design the right combination based on your guest count, venue, and budget.
Guests & Age Groups
How many kids can attend a GameTruck party?
Most birthday parties accommodate 10–20 kids comfortably. Video game theaters can handle up to 24 players at once, or 50+ per hour with structured rotations. Laser tag works great with groups of 10–24 per match. For larger groups — siblings, entire classes, combined friend groups — we scale up to 30+ with multi-activity combinations or extended time. Your local operator will help you design the right setup for your guest list.
What age groups work best for GameTruck?
Our most popular range is ages 6–14, but we host events for all ages. Kids as young as 6 enjoy the gaming experience with GameCoach assistance. Teen parties (13–17) love competitive tournaments and tactical laser tag. Adult events work great for corporate outings, milestone birthdays, and bachelor or bachelorette parties. Family reunions bring together grandparents, parents, and kids — GameTruck has something for every generation. We adapt the game library, activity format, and energy level to match your group.
Is GameTruck just for kids?
Not at all. While kids birthday parties are our most popular event, GameTruck regularly hosts teen parties, college-age gatherings, adult celebrations, corporate team building events, and multi-generational family reunions. Our game library includes titles for all age groups. Laser tag, ZTAG, and GelTag bring competitive excitement for teens and adults. We adapt the experience to match your crowd — competitive tournaments for teens, nostalgic classics for adults, family-friendly options for mixed-age groups.
Venues & Space
Can GameTruck come to my house?
Yes. That is our signature service — the party comes to you. The mobile gaming theater needs about 60 feet of straight, level space, roughly the length of a standard moving truck. Residential streets, cul-de-sacs, and street parking all work, provided we have enough room to maneuver. The trailer includes its own generator, so you do not need an outdoor outlet or extension cords. For outdoor activities like laser tag and GelTag, you need an open area about 40 × 60 feet — roughly the size of a backyard.
Can GameTruck come to apartments, parks, or community centers?
Yes. For apartments or homes without street access, we can often park nearby with permission. Parks and community centers work great if there is accessible parking. School parking lots, church lots, and office campuses are all popular venues. For indoor-only locations or venues without outdoor space, @HOME brings gaming equipment directly inside your space. Your local operator will confirm site feasibility during booking.
How much space does GameTruck need?
The mobile gaming theater needs about 60 feet of straight, level clearance with approximately 10 feet of overhead height. That is roughly the footprint of a standard moving truck. For outdoor activities, you need an open area about 40 × 60 feet — a typical backyard or park clearing. Foam parties work in any outdoor open space. The trailer has its own generator, so no electrical hookup is required. Your local operator can assess your space during booking.
Weather & Reliability
What if it rains on party day?
Video game parties are hosted inside a climate-controlled theater, so rain, heat, and cold are not a problem. This is one of the biggest reasons families choose video game parties — they are completely weather-proof. Outdoor activities (laser tag, GelTag, foam parties, water tag) can be rescheduled if conditions are severe. Light rain often does not affect outdoor play. Your local operator will work with you on weather contingencies and rescheduling options.
Does GameTruck work in hot or cold weather?
Yes. GameTruck mobile theaters are insulated and climate-controlled — designed to operate year-round in every climate, from Arizona summers to Minnesota winters. The interior stays comfortable regardless of outside temperature. Outdoor activities like laser tag and GelTag are typically scheduled during moderate weather, but GameCoaches adapt based on conditions. Many families in hot climates specifically choose video game parties because the kids stay cool and comfortable the entire time.
Party Day
What happens when GameTruck arrives?
Your certified GameCoach arrives 15–30 minutes before your event starts. They park the trailer (or set up outdoor activity equipment), power on all systems, and prepare the gaming environment. When guests arrive, the GameCoach gives a quick orientation, organizes teams or free-play rotations, and manages the entire event. They handle player rotations, settle friendly disputes, keep energy high, and make sure every guest gets equal play time.
Do I need to provide food, decorations, or entertainment?
GameTruck is a full entertainment solution — no additional activities needed. Many hosts set up a simple food table nearby with pizza, cake, and snacks, but that is entirely optional and separate from the GameTruck experience. We bring all the fun. Parents frequently tell us they appreciate the simplicity of having one vendor handle the entire entertainment experience — no magician, no bounce house, no Pinterest crafts to prepare.
How long does a GameTruck party last?
Most parties are 2 hours, which gives every guest plenty of play time even with rotations. If you are combining activities — say video games plus laser tag — a 3-hour block keeps things relaxed and avoids rushing between rotations. Some locations offer extended time options for larger groups or events that want extra flexibility. Your local operator can recommend the ideal duration based on your headcount and activity selection.
Who cleans up after the party?
Nobody — because there is nothing to clean up. The GameCoach packs all equipment, powers down systems, secures all controllers and gear, and drives away. Your space is left exactly as it was before we arrived. No forgotten equipment. No mess. No trash. That is the entire point of GameTruck: zero setup, zero cleanup, zero stress for the host.
Safety & Staffing
Are GameCoaches background-checked?
Yes. Every GameCoach goes through a background check and completes GameTruck's certification training program before working events. They are trained in event management, crowd control, equipment operation, safety protocols, and age-appropriate game facilitation. The GameCoach stays at your event for the entire duration — they do not leave or hand off to anyone else.
Is GameTruck insured?
Yes. Every GameTruck operator carries general liability insurance and can provide a certificate of insurance naming your organization, school, church, or venue as an additional insured. This is standard for school districts, corporate campuses, and venue requirements. Ask your local operator for a certificate of insurance when you book.
Is laser tag safe for kids?
Yes. GameTruck laser tag uses infrared beams — similar to a TV remote — that are completely harmless. There is no physical contact and no projectiles. The equipment is lightweight and designed for ages 6 and up. GameCoaches brief all players on rules, manage teams, and referee matches to ensure fair, safe play. Many parents play alongside their kids.
Is the foam in Foam Parties safe?
Yes. GameTruck foam is clean, hypoallergenic, non-toxic, and non-staining. It is essentially the same material used in children's bubble baths. The foam rinses off easily with water and does not damage grass, concrete, or clothing. Many parents appreciate foam parties because kids can play freely without any safety concerns.
Corporate & Large Events
Does GameTruck do corporate events and team building?
Yes. GameTruck is a popular choice for corporate team building, employee appreciation events, company family days, and office celebrations. We bring video game tournaments, laser tag team battles, and outdoor activities directly to your office parking lot, corporate campus, park, or event venue. Activities are designed to build camaraderie through friendly competition — no trust falls or forced icebreakers. GameTruck resonates especially well with younger employees and tech-forward companies.
Can GameTruck handle large events like festivals and fundraisers?
Yes. GameTruck regularly supports school fundraisers, community festivals, church carnivals, and large corporate events with hundreds of attendees. A single video game trailer can entertain 50+ players per hour with structured rotation. For larger events, we coordinate multiple units and outdoor activities running simultaneously to maximize throughput. Schools using GameTruck for fundraisers typically net $800–$2,000+ per event through ticket sales, with additional revenue from concessions and raffles.
Can GameTruck be used for school fundraising events?
Yes, and it is one of our most popular event formats. Some schools charge $15–$25 per student for a 2-hour event. With 100–150 students attending, gross revenue is typically $1,500–$3,750. After paying for GameTruck, schools net $800–$2,000+ per event. Adding concessions, raffles, or silent auctions increases proceeds further. We provide certificates of insurance for school districts and can coordinate with multiple schools in the same district.
